Position Summary:
The Transplant Nurse Manager (TNM) works with and advises the Department Director in the management, development, direction, coordination and evaluation of the practice of professional nursing within Clinical
Transplant Services. Works with staff to model best practices in Transplant Coordination/Nursing. The TNM will supervise and mentor nursing staff in all programs. The role of the TNM is to lead, expertly guide, and oversee the Transplant Coordinator/RN and ARNP staff consistent with clinical and regulatory requirements, and the service excellence mission of JMH/Clinical Transplant Services. This role will provide daily oversight of all Transplant Coordinator/RN and ARNP staff while maintaining the confidentiality and
privacy of patients, as well as providing continual regulatory readiness for UNOS, CMS and JCAHO. This role will promote professional habits through work ethic, attitude and ability to work as a team member. As a Transplant Nurse Manager will also carry a patient load and be responsible for the Clinical Transplant Coordinator Responsibilities, assigned primary responsibility for coordinating clinical aspects of care. As a coordinator will work with patients and their families beginning for either a pre or post transplant patient population.
Selection Criteria:
RN required. Florida RN license or eligibility required. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing/related field required (completed or in progress). 3 to 5 years experience in Nursing within a Medical/Surgical area, with one year's experience in a management position required. CCTC (Clinical Care Transplant Coordinator) or CCTN (Clinical Care Transplant Nurse) preferred. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required. Ability to demonstrate literacy in using computerized information systems.
